About

A small firm. The person you meet does the work.

Nimbus Analytica is a one-person consultancy based in Ontario, Canada. We work with companies in Canada and the United States.

When you book a call, you speak to the person who will do your Groundwork. There is no sales team, and no junior team waiting behind the scenes.

What that means for you

01

The good part. You deal with one person who knows your project. Decisions are quick. You pay for the work, not for layers of management.

02

The limit. One person can only take on so much. We take a limited number of Groundwork projects at a time.

03

The risk, and how we handle it. A one-person firm carries key-person risk, and you should ask about it. So we write every deliverable for someone else to pick up. You own all of it. The scope pack is written so any vendor can bid on it. If we are unavailable, your work still stands.

What we do

We help teams decide whether to build, buy or skip a software or AI project, and we show our working. Groundwork is how we do it. We also build, at a fixed price, if you want us to.

What we don't do

Our conflict, stated plainly

We make money from builds as well as from advice. That could bias a recommendation. We handle it by writing the decision memo before the quote, by giving you the scope pack to take elsewhere, and by treating "don't build" as a real answer.

What we make for ourselves

We build our own tools: TokenWatch, which tracks AI coding tool costs, and VoxRank, which is in build. We also write The Inference, a free weekly newsletter. We build them because it keeps our advice honest: we pay the same costs we tell you about.
